The suspect has been identified as Mathews Kuwili.

Police detectives based at Njewa Police Unit, were on observation patrols near Traditional Authority (T/A) Njewa's headquarters.

At around noon time, they came across the suspect who was selling the medical drugs to communities on a door to door service.

Realizing the consequences, having recognized the lawenfocers, the suspect started to run away from the scene.

However, he could not manage to cover a distance, he was apprehended and taken to the police unit for interrogation.

Upon being searched, the suspect was found with assorted medical drugs, some bearing the Malawi Government name.

Apart from failing to produce valid documents for the possession of the drugs, he was also tight-lipped to explain where he got them.

He is currently in police custody at Lilongwe Police Station pending court appearance soon to face 'Illegal Possession of Medical Drugs' charge.

He hails from Bokosi Village, T/A Amidu in Balaka District.
